Helix Gauntlets

This pattern is from Interweave Knits Holiday 2008. They are called "helix gauntlets". I knit them with Socrates yarn made in Peru, color #1018. The yarn is 30% baby alpaca, 30% merino wool, 20% bamboo, and 20% nylon. Once I picked up the yarn in the store, I couldn't put it down despite the $19-a-skein cost; it is SO soft and the color is great too.

The bottom cuff of these fingerless gloves has a cable pattern, and the top cuff has an expanding cable pattern. The length in between is a stockinette stitch which decreases towards the wrist and then increases after the wrist. The button is an ivory vintage-ish looking flower.

Pressing on Toward the Goal

Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. All of us who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you. Only let us live up to what we have already attained. Phillipians 3:12-16

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phillipians 4:4-7

Lastest knitting projects

This 'generations purse' is made of Italian Urban Silk which is 80% silk and 20% cotton. The pattern is from knitpicks.com.

This is an amazing little project. It is called Elizabeth Zimmermann's Baby Surprise Jacket. When knitting, it looks like a big amorphous blob of yarn but once its finished, I sewed up the shoulder seams and it turned into a cute little garter stitch sweater. I made this with hand dyed 100% merino wool.

This is a "berry bobble hat". The pattern is from Interweave Knits Holiday 2008. The yarn is 50% silk and 50% wool.
